Happy Holidays :(
I shot the annual pictures with Santa at Doggie Styles, an event that raised over $700 for the Friends of Animals rescue group. The picture below is by far my favorite.

Tar-Nation
Sticky Bass
Last night I shot the opening reception of Mattia Biagi's Art Exhibition at a space near McCarther Park. In short, all his work consisted of items dipped in tar. It was an intresting way to see familiar objects. I stuck it out till the end as rumor kept circulating that the cash cow for all photogs, Paris would show. She did not, instead we got her mom and one of her alleged BFF's, Caroline Vreeland. To see all my pictures from the evening on the Film Magic site, click here.

vinpix blog, 100th entry
This entry marks my 100th entry in the ‘ole blogspot. The experience of shooting new things have been made a little richer by my ability to share with my five loyal readers. Much thanks to Chris Battle who back in the day encouraged me to start a blog. And to Christy Nicolay and Pam Z who were the subjects of my first entry, click here to view. At this point I think my favorite image is of my favorite person. Click here to view the dramatic Christmas shot of my Queen.
The world now finds itself at the dawn of new possibility and growth. I can’t help but to feel inspired by the events around me. I hope that I personally can live on this planet as an example of positivity and prosperity that supports the harmony the world seeks.
Gain and loss. Even as I celebrate with everyone the new positive tone of our country, Donna and I have suffered a loss today. Those of you who have been to our home have all seen our gi-normous gold fish. I purchased her 13 years ago and she passed away today. She lived 12 years and six months longer than I thought she would. Always offering an enthusiastic greeting to anyone who approached the tank or a big messy splash of her tail in appreciation of food, she was a joy to have as a member of our family. Even our cat, Mickey will now need a new routine in the morning instead of rushing to the tank every feeding time begging for a taste of the smelly fish flakes. Stupid fish. She will be missed.
But today is also a beautiful day. Warm and sunny. I’m excited to live, create and give. I look forward to sharing with you what I see. Be well all.

Image Magazine
This was a first for me. I shot two gallery openings on separate days and both events appeared in the same publication, same issue. Image Magazine features my photos of Olivier Pojzman's gallery reception on page 26 and page 28 features my shots of Katina and Christa Zinner's reception at the James Coleman Gallery in Santa Monica. Thanks to Alyson Dutch and Catherine Cunningham at BDPR, Inc. for making it all come together.

Variety, October 23rd
Although Variety published my picture of Spike Jonze attending NY's Ghetto Film School Benefit here in LA last month, my favorite picture from the evening was of Johnny Knoxville showing some kids how to ham it up for the camera.

Spay Day LA, Adopt Now!
Last Saturday I volunteered to shoot promotional stills for the Spay Day LA and Adoption event held at the West LA Animal Care Center. The day drew pet lovers and celebrities together to promote the adoption of dogs, cats and even rabbits in need of loving homes.

Scream 2008
Saturday night I was invited to help shoot the 2008 Scream Awards at the Greek Theater. I was expecting to just shoot the red carpet but was soon asked to cover the green room... a much better spot. To see more, click here to view the slideshow.

Pickup Artist
Saturday I shot the opening reception of "Tides of Emotion", the mother daughter exhibition at the James Coleman Gallery in Santa Monica. Katina Zinner's large format abstracts shared the space with dramatic bronze figures by her mom the famed photographer Christa Zinner.

Escape to Dance Mountain
Dance winners from the Dick Clark Productions hit show, "So You Think You Can Dance" kicked off their 2008 Tour with a celebration at Magic Mountain in Valencia. After dark the park closed except for cast and crew. Once I finished shooting PR pictures everyone was anxious to hit the coasters. Me, I passed. Catherine Cunningham at BDPR, Inc. brought me on board to cover the opening reception of Olivier Pojzman's fine art photography series at

Mammoth Size Fun
This past weekend we had a whirlwind trip up to Mammoth Mountain and surrounding lakes. The weather was perfect, the air clean, it was all good. Our friends Dave and Cindy were great hosts and better company.

French Revolution
My friends Mike and Eva threw another fun client party at their pet boutique, Doggie Styles in Beverly Hills. It was a wildly successful French Soirée with lots of snarling, spitting and snorting French Bulldogs. The day attracted the local press and a camera crew from Animal Planet. The store was standing room only with the dog owners wearing perpetual smiles as their Frenchies roughhoused across the floor.

Gene Therapy
This week I photographed Gene Simmons at his book signing for "Ladies of The Night" at Borders in Westwood. I have to say that Mr. Simmons was very gracious to his fans who paid over $40 for his book and waited in line for hours. He stayed until the line was gone and was very interactive with the crowd. Good rock star! Here's a few shots from the evening. To see everything
